The SI Board of Directors refined our mission and tag line statements during their June 2019 board meeting. They were developed with the help of a branding and marketing firm, Iris Creative.
For some reference: A vision statement serves to describe what the world would look like after the mission has been accomplished. You will note our vision statement has remained the same.
The purpose of a mission statement is to describe the organization, what it does, for whom, and to what end.
A tag line is a short phrase that describes what an organization does in an inspirational way.
Below are the new Board-approved Statements which we are to begin using immediately:
Vision: Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams. (no change to original)
Mission: Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.
Tag Line: Investing in Dreams (matches and supports our next Big Goal statement: Invest in the Dreams of half a million women and girls through access to education.)
