Bonnie was born in Montreal, Quebec and lived there until she graduated from high school, then moved to Alberta at the age of 18 where she has been ever since. She joined Soroptimist International of Central Alberta in 2013 and rather hit the ground running being elected to Club Secretary in her first year, as a replacement incumbent; then Club Vice President in 2015, moving in to Club President in 2016 where she held that position until she needed to step down to take on the role of Western Canada Region Board Secretary in April of 2017. Bonnie lives in Red Deer, Alberta with her partner of 10 years, Steve Martin, her 14 year old daughter Jillian, and two dogs; Sam, a 5 year old cockapoo/chihuahua cross and Biscuit, an 8 month old toy Yorkie.
Bonnie works for Alberta Health Services, in Pharmacy, as an Administrative Assistant to the Central Zone Operations Manager who oversees operations for 24 sites in Central Alberta. Her primarily role is to gather and report statistical results on zone wide pharmacy services, including turnaround time, inventory, drug recalls, workplace health and safety and data retention. Bonnie is also a part-time Style Consultant for Magnolia and Vine, jewelry and accessories.
In her spare time, in addition to her volunteering wherever she can with her Club, Bonnie likes to camp, take the dogs on long walks, do crafts and other activities with Jillian; and she loves to cook.
