SoroptimistInternational of Victoria , just celebrated its 80th Anniversary supporting women’s organizations and initiatives locally and internationally. Meaning ‘Best for Women’,Soroptimist is a vibrant, dynamic organization for today’s professional and business women. Soroptimists are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realize aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong, peaceful communities worldwide.
Soroptimist’s mission is to inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives of women and girls through a global network of members and international partnerships.
Soroptimist Victoria raises $35,000, on average, each year for initiatives such as breakfasts for participants at Bridges for Women, dinner for residents at Victoria Women’s Transition House, start-up packages for women leaving the Cridge Transition House, holiday hampers and school supplies for 1Up Single Parent Resource Centre, and many more.
